Thomas Ask

Tom has been married to his wonderful wife Beth for over thirty years and has two grown children. Tom participates in a wide range of outdoor activities near his home in northern Pennsylvania.

In addition to his novels for teenagers, Tom has written books and papers related to engineering and design. He has also published poetry and paintings in literary journals. Tom has designed dozens of commercialized products and systems and was awarded the Middlesex University Goulding Prize for Professional Excellence in connection with his Malaysian fishing boat design.

In addition to writing and designing, Tom serves as professor of industrial design at Penn College. He earned bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering, liberal studies, and industrial design, respectively. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and has worked and traveled several years overseas, primarily in the developing world.
